The planner

Every move has two doors

A quote that only asks about one address is half a quote. Pick the door you are leaving, the door you are arriving at, and the size of the move; the planner answers with the crew that honestly fits, the published rate, and what to sort out at each end before moving day.

Door one: what are you leaving?
Door two: what are you arriving at?
And how big is the move?

A worked example while you choose

2 movers + 1 truck at $250/hr

Say you are leaving a two-bedroom unit in a lift building off Burns Bay Road and arriving at a townhouse ten minutes away. The crew that honestly fits is 2 movers and a truck at the published $250 an hour.

Before door one (the lift building)

  • Book the lift with building management or strata, and ask for the padding blankets to be hung
  • Ask where the loading dock or visitor bay is, and its height clearance if it is in the basement
  • Check large pieces against the lift door, not just the lift car

Before door two (the townhouse)

  • Let the neighbours or complex manager know a truck is coming: shared driveways work better warned
  • Check whether the truck fits down the internal driveway or the carry starts at the street
  • Note internal stairs; most townhouses hide a flight or two

Get a quote for your own two doors

General guidance, not a quote: the exact crew and plan are confirmed once our partner removalist hears the full story of both addresses. The planner above works without sending us anything; nothing is saved until you choose to enquire.

Why we plan from the doors, not the distance

Most Lane Cove moves are short. Riverview is under a kilometre from the village centre; Longueville is a kilometre and a half; even Chatswood is only a few minutes up the ridge. What sets the length of a moving day here is almost never the drive. It is the two doors: how far the truck can get from each one, what stands between the truck and the furniture, and whether anything needs booking before the day.

That is why our quote form reads like this planner. Tell us both addresses and their access stories, and the plan our partner removalist sends back covers the whole day, not just the loaded kilometres in the middle of it.

Tell us about both doors

Five minutes of form beats a week of phone tag. Two addresses, the size of the place, the access story at each end: from that our partner removalist sizes the crew, names the hourly rate and rings you back with the day already sketched.
