FAQ
Straight answers
Everything we get asked, answered the way we would across a fence. Anything we have missed, ask through the enquiry form and the answer comes back to you directly.
Rates and quoting
What do you charge?
Our partner removalist's three published hourly rates, and nothing else: 2 movers and a truck at $250 an hour; 3 movers and a truck at $350; 4 movers running two trucks at $500. Which crew fits your move depends on its size and access, and the removalist recommends honestly.
Will you name a fixed total before seeing the move?
Not sight-unseen: a fixed total quoted blind is a number somebody invented. What you get instead from our partner removalist: the crew that fits, its published rate, and an honest hours band shaped by your two access stories, which budgets just as well. The rate itself never moves on the day.
Is there a minimum, or hidden extras?
The smallest crew is 2 movers and a truck at $250 an hour. There are no stair surcharges, fuel levies or wrap fees; stairs and distance show up as time, which the hourly model already charges for honestly.
How do I get the price down?
Shrink the hours. Finish packing before the crew arrives, stage boxes near the door, book the lift, hold the kerb. Our local-hop guide is a whole page of exactly this.
The move itself
Do you do packing?
Yes, our partner removalist packs as hourly work with the same crew, and brings the wrap, blankets and dollies regardless. If you want packing help, say so in the enquiry so the crew is sized for it.
Do you disassemble beds and furniture?
Beds, tables and the usual flat-pack suspects, yes, as part of the hourly job. Name anything unusual (a piano, a big aquarium, gym equipment) in the enquiry and it gets its own plan.
My building needs a lift booking. What do I ask for?
A lift window, the padding hung, dock access and the clearance height. Our building-access guide gives you the exact email to send.
Our driveway is steep. Do you handle that?
Yes. Our partner removalist plans whether the truck goes down the drive or the carry runs to the street, and the steep-driveway guide shows how that planning works.
How far outside Lane Cove do you go?
Anywhere the move needs. The valley and its neighbours are home turf; the partner removalist's rate stays the same wherever the day goes, and only the hours change with the distance.
Booking and contact
Where is your phone number?
Not published yet, quite deliberately: a move described in writing cannot be misheard on a bad line or buried in a voicemail. The form takes your number, and the callback from our partner removalist arrives with your whole move already understood.
How fast do you reply?
Our partner removalist replies. A tight timeline flagged in your message moves you up the queue.
What details make a quote accurate?
Both suburbs, the dwelling type and size at each end, the access story (lift or stairs, driveway or dock), your date if you have one, and anything oversized. That is the whole recipe; the Two Doors planner assembles most of it for you.
The next step
Tell us about both doors
Five minutes of form beats a week of phone tag. Two addresses, the size of the place, the access story at each end: from that our partner removalist sizes the crew, names the hourly rate and rings you back with the day already sketched.
