Apartment and unit moves

Around seven in ten Lane Cove addresses are units, from older walk-ups near the village to the newer buildings along the highway corridor, and the difference in a unit move is always made before the day.

Two movers wheeling a wrapped load through an apartment lobby toward a lift hung with padding blankets
The lift is the whole move in a bigger building: booked, padded and held, it sets the pace of the day.

The three questions that decide a unit move

  • The lift. In a lift building the move runs at the lift's pace. Our partner removalist asks you to book it with building management or strata, get the protective blankets hung, and hold it for the agreed window. In a walk-up, the flights and the tightest turn set the pace instead, and the removalist crews for the carry honestly.
  • The truck position. Loading dock, visitor bay or street? Basement docks along the Burns Bay Road corridor come with height limits, and a truck that cannot enter changes the plan. Tell us the clearance if you know it; the removalist asks if you do not.
  • The big pieces. A sofa that entered through a window years ago will not fit in the lift now. The removalist measures the awkward pieces against the lift door and the stair turns before the day, so nothing is discovered at shoulder height.

What is included

  • 2 movers and a truck at the published $250 an hour for studios up to two-bedroom units; bigger apartments honestly take 3 movers at $350
  • Wrap, blankets, dollies and door protection as standard
  • Bed disassembly and reassembly as part of the hourly work
  • End-of-lease timing built around your key handover when you tell us the date

Common questions

Do you deal with strata and building managers?

The lift booking has to come from you as the resident, but the asks are simple and we spell them out: the window, the padding, the dock access. Once it is booked, our partner removalist runs the day to that window.

What if my building has no lift?

Walk-ups are half of Lane Cove's older unit stock and our partner removalist crews for them honestly: more hands for the carry, and a straight answer about how the flights affect the hours. Our building-access guide covers both kinds.

Can a small move be cheaper than the minimum crew?

The smallest crew our partner removalist runs is 2 movers and a truck at $250 an hour, because one mover cannot carry a fridge. For a genuinely tiny job, fewer hours is where the saving is: have everything packed, in the hall, lift booked, and the clock barely gets started.

Tell us about both doors

Five minutes of form beats a week of phone tag. Two addresses, the size of the place, the access story at each end: from that our partner removalist sizes the crew, names the hourly rate and rings you back with the day already sketched.
